On a whim, I picked up the GamePad and started messing around in the editor again. I figured I'd try and make another underground level, but I wasn't entirely sure what to do with it
The first thing I did was actually move the underground section to a sub-area, with the main area set to the overworld style, to give it kind of an authentic "Super Mario Bros." feel in that you enter the underground section immediately after starting, and exit before finishing
As I started designing, I started with the upper, more difficult path with intent to allow access to bonuses in the overworld from there. I wanted to create "Coin Heaven" areas, but since the music has to be attached to an object that follows you around to remain persistent, I decided to use Lakitu's Cloud and have you fly around collecting stuff. I just threw down some track for the first one and thought it looked good (added the "windows" when I noticed it looked like a house), and decided to do another track pattern for the second
The upper path is designed so that you can only enter if you've found a hidden Fire Flower. Otherwise, the Pipe and Piranha Plant pattern doesn't allow you to make it all the way through alive. Since I started it with a timed skill jumps, I decided that that would be the theme for this section
After completing the upper "difficult" path, I decided to make the lower path "easy" so that overall it wouldn't be such a pain in 100 Mario Challenge. Obviously, I couldn't help myself and still made it very slightly challenging
