Title
Sharding Middleware to Achieve Elasticity and High Availability in the Cloud
Description
To truly embrace the cloud, you must do more than simply deploy existing applications to a virtualized infrastructure: you must think, design, and architect differently. This session examines some of the fundamental and somewhat radical departures in system design when we apply the "sharding paradigm" to traditional middleware. As examples, it discusses how sharding is influencing the way we design enterprise products such as GlassFish, Oracle WebLogic, and Oracle Service Bus, together with the underlying services that may be available to regular developers building enterprise-class systems in the applications in the future.
