OSGi in the Cloud: A Case Study

Description

Leren-op-Maat is Dutch for personalized education, an educational system focused on personalized learning that is currently being implemented at Dutch secondary schools. This highly modular system runs completely in the cloud.

This session shows you how this system was built with standard OSGi services and open source components to create RESTful Web services and collaborate with cloud services such as BlobStores. For deployment to the cloud, the system uses Apache ACE, which makes it possible to manage cloud nodes and deploy software. It also enables fine-grained updating of running applications. The UI is based on the OpenSocial standard, which makes the UI modular too."
