Title
Migration of a Large Automation Solution to Oracle WebLogic Server
Description
This session presents an overview of the distribution center of a large logistics provider in the UK where Siemens operates the facility's overall production control system. The software Siemens has implemented to run this facility controls the center's system logic, inclusive of realizing, planning, monitoring, and reporting system behavior. The entire software solution is built on top of Java technologies such as Java EE. The software went live in 2003, and, as of 2012, it has been migrated to Oracle WebLogic Server. The presentation shows how the facility is controlled by a cluster of Oracle WebLogic Servers and a three-node Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC) database in an embedded near-real-time environment.
