Java and OSGi: Enabling Smart Data on M2M Gateways and Aggregators

As M2M gateways and aggregator devices continue to expand the ever-widening array sensors and sensor protocols they manage, M2M application developers are faced with the task of porting applications to each new sensor and protocol. As a result, applications become locked into a specific device and more time is spent on porting for each sensor instead of focusing on creating smart data for the cloud. Using a live demonstration and code snippets, this presentation demonstrates how Java and OSGi can be leveraged to abstract sensors and sensor protocols into dynamic services, freeing developers to focus on creating smart data for the cloud.
