Title

Java Robots and Automation with MAX

Description

Many think of Java as a back-end server technology only. Embedded Java is often considered only for cell phones or prototyping. For more than 10 years, Perrone Robotics has been using a set of Java software building blocks it calls MAX for a wide variety of robotics and automation applications, including fully autonomous self-driving cars, unmanned air vehicles, and real-time vehicle tolling applications. Many are surprised to see the company's Java-based MAX code run in microcontrollers, low-power embedded processors, real-time deterministic environments, and large industrial processes alike. This session shares the many and varied real-world robotic and industrial control applications possible with Java and the benefits offered.
