Internet of Things/M2M: Smart Converged Gateway for Smart Grid and Buildings

This session introduces the Freescale smart wireless converged platform, which integrates with Oracle Java Embedded ME/SE technology to connect smart grids, homes, and buildings for M2M, using a Zigbee-based 802.15.4 wireless sensor network. The presentation discusses the last mile of the smart grid, integrating smart meters, a smart home/building home area network with 8308nSG for home energy management, and a neighborhood area network with a multicore P1025 Data Concentrator for advanced metering infrastructure.

This internet of things can be extended to various market segments, connecting the Zigbee wireless sensor network with smart gateway and smart mobile devices for remote monitoring/control.
