    Description

The evolution of Java resulting in Java 7 was dictated by market requirements such as high performance, secure systems demands, performance, and the growth in complexity of new hardware platforms. New features introduce noticeable enhancements as well as certain issues not addressed before. The majority of Java 7 features are reflected in the SPECjbb2012 Enterprise benchmark. This session presents real Java 7 use cases, architecting for scaling up, performance and other benefits, and issues the speakers faced in a certain application using a response-time-based SLA. New Java 7 features provided lots of flexibility in the architecture and coding, but the journey was not completely smooth. Many attendees could benefit from the speakers' experience of designing an enterprise Java benchmark.
